V First Order

First Sale – Vendor Guide

Congratulations on Your First Sale!

Getting your first sale on OutboardBits is an important step.

This guide explains what happens when a customer buys one of your products and what you need to do as the vendor.

1. You Receive an Order

When a customer purchases one of your products, the order will appear in your Vendor Dashboard.

Check your dashboard regularly so you do not miss new orders.

Open the order to see the full details.

2. Check the Order

Carefully check:

  • The product purchased

  • Quantity

  • Customer’s delivery details

  • Shipping or collection method

  • Order total

  • Any notes left by the customer

Make sure you have the correct item available before preparing the order.

3. Prepare the Part

Find the item and check it against the order.

For used parts, make sure the item is in the condition described in your listing.

If you notice a problem with the item before sending it, do not send it without contacting the customer.

4. Shipping the Order

If the customer has selected delivery:

  1. Package the item securely.

  2. Use the delivery method you selected for your store.

  3. Send the item to the address shown on the order.

  4. Keep your postage receipt or tracking information.

  5. Add tracking information to the order if available.

For larger or heavier items, make sure the packaging is suitable for the item being shipped.

5. Collection Orders

If the customer has selected collection, do not ship the item.

Arrange collection using the details provided by your store.

Only hand over the item when you are satisfied that the correct order is being collected.

6. Updating the Order

Keep the order status up to date through your Vendor Dashboard.

This allows both you and the customer to see what is happening with the order.

When the order has been dispatched, update the order as required.

7. Payment

Customer payments are processed through the OutboardBits payment system.

Vendor payments are handled through the marketplace payment system.

Your vendor account will show the relevant information about your sales and payments.

You do not need to collect payment directly from the customer unless the order specifically uses an approved collection/payment method.

8. Keep Your Customer Informed

Good communication helps make a first sale go smoothly.

If there is a delay, problem with availability, or anything else that could affect the order, contact the customer as soon as possible.

Do not leave the customer wondering what is happening.

9. After the Sale

Once the order has been successfully completed:

  • Check that the order is showing correctly in your dashboard.

  • Keep your records up to date.

  • Keep postage or tracking information.

  • Check whether the customer has left feedback.

  • Make sure your stock is updated if necessary.

Every completed sale helps build your reputation as an OutboardBits vendor.
